A fortnight after the UK Championships in Belfast, which sadly I didn’t make the trip across for, I headed North to Forres for the European Pipe Band Championships.

The 430am start from Glasgow wasn’t pretty, but meant we were at the park for just before 9am – plenty of time for a wander and breakfast. The band I travelled with, Williamwood, were on first in their grade, and their performance earned the 6th place. Needless to say, the bus journey home went quicker than travelling up…

Pipe band season takes a few weeks break, but it’s back in Dumbarton for the Scottish Championships at the end of July – hopefully see you there.
