It’s been shot thousands of times, in both still and film, but there is something about this little gem on the banks of Loch Long, Duich & Alsh that entices you to shoot it!
Having a weeks break near Inverness meant it was “close enough” to warrant the journey to the west coast, through some pretty breathtaking scenery itself, we joined the tour and afterwards I had some “spare” time to grab the camera…

4:33pm bright sunlight, great for the tour, not so for photos. However, I tried a 4 shot panorama here, each shot with the 10stop filter so around 13 seconds per frame. Wasn’t sure how it would blend together with sunbursts and flares happening galore, but quite liked the height and perspective in the resulting image.
Worth a mention was the tour of the castle – very interactive, plenty to see and loads of history. The guides were also very enthusiastic, educated and passionate about the place. No photographs inside the main rooms, however free reign outside, understandable as it is a family owned, and lived in, home. If your near, definitely make time to visit.
As usual, prints are available mounted and framed if desired (recommended), send me a message for details.
